Asingan, Pangasinan – Building on its successful launch, Pangasinan State University, Asingan Campus, continued to enhance the literacy skills of out-of-school youth (OSYs) through its 3-Wheeled Classroom project at HAPAG Place, Poblacion West, Asingan on August 14.

Dr. Mary Jane Quibilan, project proponent and General Education chair, along with Dr. Elsa Q. Terre, co-proponent and PRIO coordinator, initiated the project, which remains a beacon of hope for OSYs in the area.

Under the leadership of Campus Executive Director Dr. Madlyn D. Tingco, the initiative garnered widespread support from various stakeholders, including local government units, barangay officials, and campus personnel, all united in their commitment to provide educational opportunities for all.

Dr. Quibilan explained the inspiration behind the project, stating, ” 𝘈𝘯𝘨 𝘒𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨-𝘬𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘺 𝘯𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘢𝘬𝘭𝘢 𝘴𝘢 ‘𝘒𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘰𝘯 𝘒𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘳𝘶𝘮’ 𝘯𝘪 𝘌𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘯 𝘗𝘦ñ𝘢𝘧𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘢 𝘯𝘢 𝘬𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘢𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘒𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨-𝘬𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘮 𝘢𝘺 𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘴𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘣𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘢𝘨-𝘢𝘴𝘢 𝘶𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘨-𝘢𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘭 𝘯𝘢 𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘪 𝘯𝘢 𝘯𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘰𝘬 𝘴𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘺 𝘮𝘶𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘩𝘪𝘬𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘵 𝘶𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘬𝘢𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘯 𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘶𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘴 𝘴𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘨-𝘢𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘬𝘢𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘯 𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘬𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘰𝘯 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘢 𝘴𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘴 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘶𝘬𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘯.”

Hon. Roxanne M. Clerigo, Sangguniang Kabataan Chair of Poblacion West, Asingan, praised the ongoing efforts, highlighting the project’s importance in offering OSYs new opportunities. “𝙄 𝙖𝙢 𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝙞𝙨 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒂 𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒐𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑶𝑺𝒀𝒔 𝒔𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒏𝒐 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒃𝒆 𝒍𝒆𝒇𝒕 𝒃𝒆𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒅,” Hon. Clerigo remarked.

Meanwhile, Hon. Benjo T. Baquirin, SK Chairman of Domanpot, Asingan, echoed this sentiment, sharing his personal journey of perseverance. ” 𝘎𝘳𝘢𝘣𝘣𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘢𝘯 𝘰𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘢 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘰𝘯𝘦. Municipal Councilor Hon. Athena Ira G. Chua, who also graced the event, emphasized the project’s significant impact. ” 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘎𝘜 𝘈𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘯, 𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘔𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘭 𝘔𝘢𝘺𝘰𝘳 𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘰𝘴 𝘓𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘻, 𝘑𝘳., 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘚𝘒 𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘣𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘺𝘴, 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘥 𝘢 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘵,” Hon. Chua stated. She also affirmed that LGU Asingan will continue to support this kind of endeavor throughout.

The campus officials who were present and facilitated the event included Dr. Philip G. Nonales, dean of Student and Alumni Affairs; Asst. Prof. Laurence Agsalud, chairperson of the BSE and BEE Department; Asst. Prof. Ma. Jo Ann Ventura, BSIT chairperson; Dr. Tyrone Lopez, Sports coordinator; Dr. Jennifer Miguel, Mathematics faculty, Ms. Angie Amla, campus paper adviser; and Mr. Aaron Manasseh Agsalud, campus nurse. They were also joined by the Kalahi staff, SK officials and most importantly, the OSYs themselves.
