In an ongoing effort to enhance disaster preparedness and fire safety awareness, PSU-Asingan Campus participated in the 1𝐬𝐭 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐛𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 on February 19, 2025. With this year’s theme “𝑺𝑨𝑭𝑬𝑻𝒀 𝑭𝑰𝑹𝑺𝑻: 𝑸𝑼𝑨𝑲𝑬 𝑷𝑹𝑬𝑷𝑨𝑹𝑬𝑫 𝑨𝑵𝑫 𝑭𝑰𝑹𝑬 𝑨𝑾𝑨𝑹𝑬”, it highlights the proactive measures taken to ensure preparedness for natural disasters, especially earthquakes, and awareness of fire safety.

Through the leadership of Dr. Elbert M. Galas, University President, and with the support of Dr. Madlyn D. Tingco, Campus Executive Director of PSU-AC, these activities were organized by Mr. Ryan Genesis G. De Leon, Focal Person for Risk Management, and Dr. Julie M. Agpaoa, NSTP Coordinator, in collaboration with the Bureau of Fire Protection Unit- Asingan .

Several fire officers actively engaged in the event, including FO3 Rueben I. Guindalos, FO2 John Erick C. Casamayor, FO1 Jino M. Padilla, FO1 Jan Kriztoff S. Palis, and FO1 Joemer B. Roldan. They conducted a comprehensive Fire Safety Seminar and Life Safety Training, along with Emergency Response Team Training. This training was led by FINSP Harry F. Carig, the Acting Municipal Fire Marshal of the Municipality of Asingan.

These activities align with several Sustainable Development Goals, particularly 𝐒𝐃𝐆 3: 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥-𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐒𝐃𝐆 4: 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐃𝐆 11: 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬. By promoting fire safety and disaster preparedness, the campus is contributing to the overall health and well-being of its community members, providing educational opportunities to students and staff, and enhancing disaster preparedness and response capabilities to build more resilient and sustainable communities.

Through these activities, PSU-AC continues to emphasize the importance of preparedness in the face of emergencies. The institution remains committed to fostering a safe and secure environment for its entire community.
