Pangasinan State University once again made history on the global stage as Dr. Madlyn D. Tingco, Campus Executive Director of PSU-Asingan, presented the universityโs flagship program โ๐๐๐ ๐๐ก๐ค๐๐๐ก๐๐ฏ๐๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ฃ: ๐ผ๐๐ซ๐๐ฃ๐๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ก๐ค๐๐๐ก ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ค๐๐๐ก ๐๐ญ๐๐๐ก๐ก๐๐ฃ๐๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ค๐ช๐๐ ๐๐ฉ๐ง๐๐ฉ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ฃ๐ฉ๐๐ง๐ฃ๐๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ฃ๐๐ก๐๐ฏ๐๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ฃ ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ช๐๐ก๐๐ฉ๐ฎ ๐ผ๐จ๐จ๐ช๐ง๐๐ฃ๐๐โat the WURI Global Conference 2025 held at Tongmyong University, Busan, South Korea. The program earned worldwide recognition, ranking 1st in the region, 2nd in the Philippines, and 3rd in the world under the University Brand and Reputation category.
In her presentation, Dr. Tingco affirmed PSUโs commitment to fostering both global competitiveness and local relevance through internationalization and quality assurance mechanisms. She emphasized that this achievement reflects the shared vision and collaborative efforts of the entire PSU community. This vision continues to be advanced under the leadership of Dr. Elbert M. Galas, University President of Pangasinan State University, who has sustained and strengthened the thrusts initiated by former President Dr. Dexter R. Buted. Dr. Galas reaffirmed PSUโs commitment to building a strong reputation worldwide while keeping its mission deeply rooted in serving local communities.
The WURI application report that brought PSU to global recognition was prepared by the Technical Working Group (TWG) composed of Dr. Madlyn D. Tingco, Campus Executive Director of PSU-Asingan and champion of the winning entry; Ms. Leizel M. Del Castillo, Director for International Relations; Ms. Venus May H. Sarmiento, Director for Public Relations and Information; Dr. Krigher C. Simbulan, Head of Faculty and Student Mobility; and Mr. Isaiah Ferrer. Their work was further guided by Dr. Celeste T. Mercado, Vice President for Quality Assurance, and Dr. Randy Joy M. Ventayen, Director for International Accreditation.
PSUโs remarkable achievement through PSU Glocalization not only strengthens its standing in international rankings but also highlights its role as a trailblazer in higher education innovation. It proves that a Philippine state university can excel alongside the worldโs most innovative institutions, carrying the banner of both global excellence and local service.
