PSU- Asingan Campus successfully conducted the second phase of its extension program, “𝗘𝗻𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗠𝗲”, at The United Methodist Church of Villasis, Inc., Villasis, Pangasinan, on May 16, 2025. This initiative aimed to empower the 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 (𝗪𝗦𝗖𝗦) by providing training on embutido making and entrepreneurial skills, with a focus on costing and pricing, marketing strategies, and identifying business opportunities. The activity was spearheaded by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗠. 𝗗𝘂𝗰𝘂𝘁, Center Head for Business Economics and Tourism, who served as the Lead Proponent of the Enrich Me Extension Program. Its successful implementation was made possible through the strong leadership and unwavering support of 𝗗𝗿. 𝗘𝗹𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗠. 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘀, University President; 𝗗𝗿. 𝗥𝗮𝘇𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗚. 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝘆, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovation, who also served as one of the proponents; and 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗹𝘆𝗻 𝗗. 𝗧𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗰𝗼, Campus Executive Director of PSU Asingan Campus, who likewise served as a program proponent. The event began with the registration of participants, followed by an opening prayer and a reflection on faith and empowerment by 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗡. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘇𝗮𝗻, 𝗝𝗿., the church’s Administrative Pastor. 𝗗𝗿. 𝗘𝗹𝘀𝗮 𝗤. 𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗲, Extension Coordinator, discussed the purpose of the program, emphasizing the role of academic institutions in uplifting marginalized groups. Dr. Gloria M. Ducut provided an overview of the program’s objectives and anticipated impact. 𝗠𝘀. 𝗠𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗧. 𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝘀. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘆 𝗔𝗻𝗻 𝗦. 𝗡𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻 from PSU’s BIT-FSM and BTLE faculties led the hands-on livelihood training on embutido making, equipping participants with practical skills to generate income and explore entrepreneurial opportunities. Entrepreneurial training sessions were facilitated by BSBA faculty, including 𝐃𝐫. 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐌. 𝐃𝐮𝐜𝐮𝐭, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐋𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐞𝐧 𝐒. 𝐒𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐨, 𝐌𝐬. 𝐀𝐥𝐦𝐚 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐳𝐚, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐍𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐨 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧 𝐉𝐫., 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐥𝐲𝐧 𝐃𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐨, 𝐌𝐬. 𝐆𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐲 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐳𝐚𝐫, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐫. 𝐑𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐃𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐨𝐧. These sessions covered essential business concepts such as pricing, marketing strategies, and business management. 𝗗𝗿. 𝗥𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗼 𝗠. 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻 provided valuable insights into utilizing data for sound business decisions. 𝗗𝗿. 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗼, a former Guidance Counselor, conducted a psychosocial support session, focusing on emotional resilience and mental readiness for entrepreneurial success. Participants appreciated this segment, as it inspired personal growth alongside professional development. The event’s success was made possible through the collaborative efforts of PSU’s staff and faculty. 𝗠𝘀. 𝗪𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗮 𝗟𝘆𝗻 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝘀. 𝗠𝗮. 𝗝𝗼𝗮𝗻 𝗩𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮 provided technical support, while Mr. Alvin Umaga managed photo and video documentation. Program logistics, including certificates, were handled by 𝗠𝗿. 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗴𝘀𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗱. 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗨. 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻, who served as the Master of Ceremonies, facilitated the open forum and ensured proper documentation. 𝗠𝘀. 𝗔𝗱𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗼𝗻 𝗧. 𝗚𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲, a former Extension Coordinator, conducted the evaluation of training activities. Certificates of participation and appreciation were awarded to the trainers, extensionists, and participants. 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗲𝗺𝗺𝗮 𝗔𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗻, representing WSCS, expressed gratitude for PSU’s commitment to community empowerment. Dr. Gloria M. Ducut concluded the event with closing remarks, commending the collaborative spirit of everyone involved and reaffirming the university’s dedication to transformative extension work. The “𝗘𝗻𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗠𝗲” 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 2 program demonstrated the potential of academic-community partnerships in empowering women through livelihood and entrepreneurial training.
