Emphasizing the importance of health as a key component of academic success, Pangasinan State University, Asingan Campus, has introduced a health-focused pre-enrollment period for incoming freshmen, running from July 1 to July 19.

Mr. Aaron Manasseh L. Agsalud, coordinator of Medical and Dental Services, spearheaded this initiative under the leadership of Campus Executive Director Dr. Madlyn D. Tingco, along with Dr. Philip G. Nonales, dean of Student and Alumni Affairs. The program aims to ensure new students begin their campus journey in peak health.

One of the requirements of the pre-enrollment is the medical assessment program. This thorough health initiative includes physical examinations such as measuring weight, height and blood pressure, conducted in collaboration with the Kalahi staff.

“Health and wellness are foundational to academic success,” Mr. Agsalud emphasized. “Our team is committed to ensuring every incoming student is in top health as they begin their studies at PSU-Asingan.” A Kalahi staff member, Christofer Ubaldo echoed this sentiment, adding, “We are proud to support PSU-Asingan in creating a healthy start for students, ensuring they are ready for the challenges of university life.”

The importance of this initiative was further highlighted by John Dave Lorenzo, another Kalahi staff member, who stated, “From day one, we aim to provide holistic support for our students. These medical assessments are an important part of our commitment to their well-being.” This proactive approach highlights PSU’s dedication to student health and readiness as the new academic year approaches.
