Pangasinan State University, Asingan Campus, led by Campus Executive Director Dr. Madlyn D. Tingco, celebrated Arbor Day with a nationwide simultaneous tree-planting event. This initiative aligns with Proclamation 643, s. 2004, which designates an annual day for tree planting to promote environmental stewardship across various sectors of society. Asst. Prof. Adoracion Gante, campus extension coordinator, initiated the event. “Celebrating Arbor Day by planting trees is one of the most significant ways we can protect and preserve our planet,” she said. “It’s a great opportunity to contribute to government efforts in mitigating the impact of climate change.”
Faculty and staff eagerly planted trees at the backyard of the campus. The event highlighted the collective effort to enhance the environment and foster a sense of community involvement in ecological preservation.
The celebration exemplified proactive environmental stewardship. Faculty and staff left with a sense of accomplishment and renewed dedication to maintain a green legacy for future generations. The event served as a reminder of the crucial role each individual plays in combating climate change.
