
As part of its commitment to community engagement and social responsibility, PSU-AC, under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Elbert M. Galas, University President, and Dr. Madlyn D. Tingco, Campus Executive Director, enthusiastically participated in the weeklong celebration of Asingan’s vibrant Kankanen Festival.
The πππ£π ππ£ππ£ πππ¨π©ππ«ππ‘, a cherished event highlighting the municipality’s rich cultural heritage and community spirit, featured a grand floral parade. This colorful procession showcased creative floral floats representing various sectors, including the active participation of PSU-AC, further solidifying its connection to the local community.
One of the festival highlights was the Educatorsβ Night, where PSU-AC employees collaborated with TESDA in an enchanting display of Modern Traditional Dance. This collaboration was a testament to the talent and camaraderie of the educators, who took to the stage with grace and energy, earning the admiration of the audience.
Employees who are residents of Asingan and other employees who reside outside Asingan joined the Kankanen Festival on Saturday morning, providing 5 bilaos of different native delicacies such as π£πͺπ¬π° and π±π’ππͺπ΅π’πΈ.
On Saturday evening, PSU-AC’s engagement deepened through notable contributions from the campus Management Information Systems (MIS) office, led by Mr. Wilmar Jenny Motea, and Mr. Alvin Umaga, BSIT faculty member. Collaborating with πππ πππππ£π€π©π§ππ£ππ¨ ππͺππ‘ππππ©ππ€π£, the official student publication of PSU-AC, the team spearheaded the livestreaming of the much-anticipated ππͺπ―π°π° π’π΅ ππΆπ΅πΊπ’ π―π¨ ππ΄πͺπ―π¨π’π― 2025.
The weeklong celebration of the Kankanen Festival not only reflected the Municipality of Asingan’s commitment to preserving its cultural heritage but also demonstrated PSU-AC’s active participation in fostering community relations. Such activities emphasize the university’s role in upholding its social responsibilities and strengthening its connection with the local populace.
