by admin_prpio_asingan | Jul 1, 2024 | Asingan, Events, Latest news

Pangasinan State University, Asingan Campus, celebrated PSU 45th founding anniversary with a day of gratitude and fun at the accreditation room, highlighting the faculty and staffโ€™s dedication to education and its strong community spirit, July 1.

The day began with a heartfelt thanksgiving mass, presided over by Rev. Fr. Jazel Collado. His sermon touched on the profound love educators have for their work, often making personal sacrifices of time and effort, sometimes even at the expense of family. Fr. Colladoโ€™s words struck a chord with many, acknowledging the often-overlooked dedication that fuels the success of Pangasinan State University.

After the mass, Campus Executive Director Dr. Madlyn D. Tingco thanked Fr. Collado for his presence and for his inspiring preachings.

The celebration continued with various parlor games, including picture puzzles and action relays. Faculty and staff eagerly participated, creating a lively and fun atmosphere. The games were not just about competition but about coming together and sharing laughter.

As the day progressed, everyone gathered for a grand salo-salo for the faculty and staff. The feast was a time for everyone to share food and stories, celebrating their shared journey.

The 45th anniversary celebration was more than just a party; it was a reaffirmation of the PSU ‘s mission and values. It was a day to reflect on the past and renew the commitment to excellence in education and community service.

Pangasinan State University – Asingan Campus
Domanpot, Asingan, Pangasinan

The progress of education has been phenomenal as far as the development of colleges and universities of Pangasinan is concerned. In the mainstream of this development and growth, Pangasinan State University (PSU) โ€“ Asingan Campus stand up as a progressive college. The campus history traces back in 1962 when PSU- College of Arts and Technology, Asingan Campus started as the Binalonan High School Annex situated in the school buildings of the defunct Pacifican Institute of Asingan. Later, the school site was acquired through a donation of the family of Concha Miguel. Temporary school buildings were constructed, so that in 1963, the school was separated from the Binalonan High School and became the Asingan High School by virtue of R.A. No. 3995 (Approved in 1967 and authored by Representative Luciano Millan). The school was later converted into Asingan School of Arts and Trades (ASAT) under the Bureau of Vocational Education. ASAT easily expanded with the offering of post secondary courses (Associate in Industrial Technology courses) and college degree programs like Bachelor in Industrial Technology (BIT) and Bachelor of Science in Industrial Education (BSIE).
