IN RAISING INTENSITY of ensuring that employees can recognize sexual harassment in the workplace, the Lingayen Campus Gender and Development (GAD) unit convened some faculty members to attend the Orientation on Anti-sexual harassment Act of 1995 and Safe Spaces Act of 2019 at Dr. Telesforo N. Boquiren Convention Hall on October 9 (Friday).

Said orientation aims to update participants on Anti-Sexual Harassment Act and Safe Spaces Act to increase protections for employees, improve corporate culture, and eliminate unlawful harassment from the workplace.

The GAD unit invited Hon. Corazon Nativida D. Lopez-Oro, the presiding judge of Municipal Circuit Trial Court of Labrador and Sual to present the Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995; and Atty. Clinton C. Caramat, private legal practitioner, to talk about Safe Spaces Act of 2019.

At the end, participants were very happy that they were informed with this issue especially that sexual harassment is an uncomfortable topic in workplaces. Dr. Presley de Vera, Campus Coordinator for Gender and Development, expressed her gratitude to all the participant and GAD council in successfully staging the said discussions.  /mmpd
