BRAND OF LEADERSHIP. Dr. Randy Joy Ventayen, Dean of College of Business and Public Administration, was recognized as Highest Distinction in Leadership Excellence in Business Education by Asian+Council of Leaders, Administrators, Deans and Educators in Business (ACLADEB) which was awarded via Zoom platform last January 29 (Friday).

Dr. Ventayen who is also the concurrent Research Coordinator, was among the numerous educators and administrators-including University Presidents, Deans, and Executive Directors, awarded in citation to their exceptional leadership and educational management skills.

“The annual ACLADEB Awards is one of the honors that is given in accordance to their qualification as an educator and/or administrator in Business Education,” stated on the organization’s awards profile.

Moreover, the Selection Committee is considering the following criteria to identify the roster of awardees: (1) outstanding educational talent as evidenced by effective instructional practices and student learning results in the classroom; (2) excellent educational accomplishments beyond the classroom that provide models of excellence for the profession; and (3) contributions to education that are largely unheralded yet worthy of spotlight.

“I am very happy and overwhelmed but still grounded by humility. I did not expect to receive such recognition,” said by Dr. Ventayen.

The Dean added that the award will serve as motivation for him to improve his service delivery and ‘inspire him to do well’ not just for the students but also for the university as a whole.

Prior to the awarding, Dr. Ventayen was nominated by a colleague, following his submission of pertinent documents to suffice such criteria like: At least 10 years in Business Education; With masterate degree; Held the position of Dean and Administrator; Held the position in different Accreditation Bodies; With books and articles publications; Member of different Local, National, and International Organizations and Associations; Attended different Local, National and International Trainings and Seminars; Atleast 5 speaking engagements; and Awards and Nominations.

‘PUT GOD FIRST’

When asked what is his message to his fellows, Dr. Ventayen fastly answered, “In every decision you make, always put God first.”

As a leader, he emphasized the importance of having ‘spiritual awareness’ in order to succeed.

“Love to PSU and love of work, these are also the reasons why I am committed to become an effective leader in my own ways,” Dr. Ventayen added.

Aside from holding significant Campus designations, he is also the current University Web Administrator and an award-winning researcher producing numerous researches concerning business education, instructional management systems and information technology related.

In the interview, he pointed out three characteristics that make him a distinctive leader: ‘attitude, public relation, and patience’.

DRB: MOST OUTSTANDING CEO

Alongside with Dr. Ventayen is Pangasinan State University President, Dr. Dexter R. Buted, who is also awarded as Most Outstanding CEO Global Education.

In his acceptance speech, he shared the distinction to the students and employees who play an important role in the humble transformation of the university as one of the best State Universities and Colleges.

“I believe that as leader, I must solicit and hear the voices of our people, allow them to contribute to the decision making and provide avenues to flourish participative and shared governance as my framewok of leadership,” the President said.

He added that the award is a validation of effort in keeping the University, a vigorous university with prolific outcomes.

In the end, Dr. Buted expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the members and officers of ACLADEB, in providing such avenues to recognize educators with distinctive leadership.

The ACLADEB is a global network of individuals and organizations with the objectives of promoting and encouraging the advancement of Business & Entrepreneurship and other management sciences in the ASEAN+ Countries.       /mmpd
