Dr. Dexter R. Buted, through his President’s hour held at Sta. Maria Campus on May 5, shared good news to the officials, faculty and non-teaching staff, and students about the laid projects for the campus as part of the massive facelifts of the University and equipment upgrade to assure the provision of satisfactory services delivery to the students, and other clienteles.

Starting with the repair and rehabilitation of the Capability Building Center (CBC), this Php 6.5 million General Appropriations Act (GAA) funded project already has its 100% status completion for phase 1 and 75% for phase 2 as of the third quarter of 2017. Equipment and air-conditioning installation are also part of the rehabilitation of CBC budgeted with Php 2 million which was sourced out from the Income Generating Projects (IGP) of the University.

The soon-to-be fully renovated CBC will be firstly utilized for programs and activities to be conducted in the upcoming 38th PSU Founding Anniversary slated on November as the celebration this year will be hosted by the campus.

Meanwhile, Dr. Buted also announced that the campus will be expecting the repair of the Agricultural Knowledge Center, and the Construction of Nursery and Green House.

“The repair and improvement of the Agricultural Knowledge Center has a budget allotment of Php 14.6 M, while the construction of Nursery and Green House has Php 4.8 M budget. The University will also purchase Php 5 M worth of farming equipment. All of the budgets for these projects were sourced out from the GAA.” This was according to Mrs. Maria Corazon B. Puzon, Vice President for Finance Management.

Said projects aim to strengthen the performance of the University in producing researches and extension programs coming from the students and faculty members with the end goal of developing communities.

Other subject matters discussed by Dr. Buted were regarding ISO Accreditation and Cascading, Collective Negotiation Agreement and Performance Based Bonus.

The President’s hour in Sta. Maria Campus was part of the itinerary right after the blessing of the University Golden Lion Bus in Manaoag.
