Faculty of PSU- ACtively planted 500 Mangrove seedlings and participated in Seminar-Training on Mangrove Rehabilitation and Nursery Care at the Provincial Mangrove Information Center and Nursery in Arnedo, Bolinao on November 26, 2021.

Partnering with Tanggol Kalikasan, Inc. of the Provincial Government of Pangasinan thru Bolinao Field Station and the City Government of Dagupan thru the City Agriculture Office, PSU’s strategic goal in sustainable social responsiveness has proactively executed with the faculty’s volunteerism and service performance in mangrove planting even if it entailed swamping in mud and deadshells.

Amidst the distance and threat of the pandemic, but persuaded with a common goal for environmental protection and conservation, Ms. Analyn I. Diola, Faculty- Environmentalist, advocated this program, with the generous support of both the now and then Campus Executive Directors, Dr. Armando D. Junio and Dr. Valentin D. Calpo, to help the community especially those living in the shorelines to prevent erosion and protect coastal communities against unwanted flooding, high winds and waves and even tsunamis. “It is basically saving lives of the people and restoring the health of the communities’ lands and seas,” said Diola.

In another event, selected faculty members with other community/ LGU partners took part in Seminar- Training on Mangrove Rehabilitation and Nursery Care.
