STARTERPACK READY!

Ten of the Lingayen Campus’ newest faculty members got the chance to make the best possible start to their career journeys as they experience to participate in a two-day Professional Development and Orientation Program on May 20-21 at De Venecia Information Technology Center (DVITC).

On first day, a series of discussions and skills workshops was prepared to equip teachers with ideas and information about university guidelines, policies and salient documents needed in their job descriptions as instructors and professors.

Talks about Civil Service Rules and Regulations by Mrs. Lucia Ceralde; Table of Specification and Rubrics Preparation, and Test Construction by Mr. Mark Marlon P. de Vera; Library Facilities and Services by Ms. Karen Y. Santillan, Extension Unit Services by Mr. Jandy Cacapit, Mindfulness in the Workplace by Ms. Beverly Fernandez, E-class Record Management and Computation of Grades by Ms. Alexies Claire Raoet; and Faculty Portfolio and MS Teams by Mr. Sylvester M. Victorio were presented on first day to guide the new teachers as they go on with their profession in the university.

While on the second day, Dr. Jun Camara discussed Research Unit Services; Ms. Era Anjelika U. Tomas for Preparation of MPS, MAR, CGE and IDP; and Ms. Catherine Atutubo for Stress and Anger Management.

“The said seminar conducted by the HR Unit helped us new faculty members become familiar with various institutional guidelines and policies as well as Civil Service rules. Different lectures were also discussed thoroughly by the different competent resource speakers which provided us an avenue to be more acquainted with MS Teams, MPS and MAR preparations, TOS preparation and stress management,” said by Mr. Mohamed Ardaniel Swandi, one of the newly-hired faculty members.

Said event was also graced by Dr. Lorna G. Urbiztondo, Campus Executive Director; Dr. Cristie Marie Dalisay, College of Education Dean; and Professor Erna M. Salazar, College of Arts, Sciences and Letters Dean.

The two-day face-to-face seminar is facilitated by the Human Resource Unit headed by Ms. Era Angelica Thomas. /mmpd
