The Pangasinan State University – Asingan Campus (PSU-AC) conducted salt-related studies as a support of the campus to the University’s research agenda and priority project on Salt. The Research and Development Coordinator, Ms. Analyn I. Diola with the approval of the Campus Executive Director, Dr. Valentin B. Calpo, Jr. conducted studies on the four (4) Municipalities of Pangasinan namely Dasol, Infanta, Alaminos and Bolinao as sampling sites of water, salt and soil.

Two (2) research studies were immediately conducted on salt-related problems because of its seasonal condition entitled, “Land Suitability Assessment of the Coastal and Brackish water areas in Pangasinan for Salt Farming” and “Utilization of Nypa frutican in household Salt-making”.

Faculty researchers are Ms. Analyn I. Diola, Engr. Eric A. Cunanan and Ms. Cristine E. Clarion who patiently collected samples on the sampling sites from May to June 2021.
